Logo contest

It’s been a fun couple of days with the launch of our online logo contest. So far we’ve had almost 6,000 total votes!
The white logo with the blue lettering and yellow sun is in the lead but the dark blue logo with the yellow sun is close behind.
There have been plenty of comments – most have been good, some have not and some have come from graphic designers looking for work or suggesting changes.
All of the comments are great – and thanks to everyone for participating and taking the time to let us know what you think. Some folks have suggested creating a design contest. This is a great idea and we’ll look for another opportunity to create a design contest shortly.
Voting is open until Sunday at midnight. So, if you have not voted yet – click here and cast your vote.

Honestly, I don’t like any of them. Start over.

These are all pretty good logos in terms of the message. The most important thing is to pick a logo that is consistent and can be applied anywhere and remain recognizable and readable. The best one from this point of view is the blue background with bold white lettering. White backgrounds with dark letters tend to wash out in bright light. The green background does not have enough contrast and the letters are not bold enough. Red is just a bad idea although it is at least a dark red. The sunrise on all of them is a positive message and can remain subtle. For my money, it’s the blue one.

I agree with Mike who posted 10/9. The blue
one is bold, withstands all criteria he
mentioned.

Brown and father.

As much as I like the red (“power color”) logo, I agree with the previous comment by Mike—the one with the blue background w/ white type just pops MUCH more! (The other white ones look so boring and the green just feels wimpy. Consider that it will be used for posters, stickers, buttons, etc. that need to be seen at a glance and at a distance. Go with the the one that stands out…the blue one! And GO GAVIN!!
