This morning we are just short of passing another milestone - 5,000 online donations - almost 8 months from the primary! This is a great start for building a grassroots campaign. It’s been a big week at the campaign - we launched our first online ad and called for a constitutional convention to help fix California. We all know we need change in California. The signs of a failed system are all too clear – rising health care costs, record unemployment, skyrocketing student fees and mounting government debt.

Making change is the hard part.

This week, we took a stand for change and released the first ad of the 2010 governor’s race, calling for a constitutional convention to fix our broken system.

The reaction has been remarkable and the press reviews are in:

We are going to fight hard for change in California and I will always stand up for what I believe. But we can’t fix California without the help of thousands of people demanding real change and then holding leaders – including me – accountable.

Right now, almost eight months from the primary and over a year from the general election, we are just 44 contributions short of reaching 5,000 online donations – a strong start for a grassroots effort this early in a campaign.
